About This Place

Nestled in the heart of Boston at 800 Boylston Street inside the bustling Eataly marketplace, Terra offers a refined yet relaxed Italian dining experience that beautifully marries the authenticity of classic Italian flavors with a vibrant, nature-inspired ambiance. This hybrid Italian restaurant, bar & grill, brunch spot, wedding venue, and wine bar effortlessly captures the essence of Italy with every detail, from the decor to the carefully crafted menu.

Terra’s culinary identity shines in its praise-worthy dishes, where traditional Italian recipes are elevated with both fresh, locally sourced ingredients and a touch of creative flair. The menu is a celebration of Italian classics and bold flavors—highlighted by standouts such as the Butternut Squash Ravioli and the signature Fettuccine Al Ragù Di Terra. Pasta lovers will also appreciate the rich, comforting Spaghetto al Pomodoro e Burrata Afeltra featuring luscious smoked Calabro burrata and fragrant basil, as well as the seafood indulgence of Sugo di mare Afeltra, brimming with Maine mussels, clams, and squid in a subtly spicy Mutti tomato sauce.

For those seeking robust, hearty flavors from the grill, dishes like the Polpette Di Agnello Spiedini (lamb skewers) bring charred, smoky complexity that sets the palate alight. The 7 Bone Steak Sicilian Sea Salt and T Bone are expertly prepared, pairing beautifully with a curated selection of white wines and craft cocktails that perfectly balance or elevate the meal.

The dessert offerings, especially the renowned tiramisu and the indulgent Chocolate Bomb, leave a lasting impression—decadent yet not overly sweet, each bite melts effortlessly, delivering rich layers of flavor and texture that linger invitingly on the tongue.

Terra’s brunch menu also deserves mention for its inventive spin and comforting familiarity. The Terra Toast with housemade brioche and spiced mascarpone or a savory Frittata con salsicce e patate featuring farm-fresh eggs and housemade sausage, showcase the same dedication to quality and balanced flavors found throughout their offerings.

The setting of Terra enhances every dining moment. The interior is thoughtfully designed with warm woods, lush greenery, and natural sunlight flooding through expansive glass, creating an inviting atmosphere that feels like a refreshing urban oasis. Guests can watch the lively open kitchen where chefs expertly prepare and grill, adding a dynamic, sensory layer to the experience. Reviewers consistently highlight the welcoming, attentive service led by staff members like Jenna and manager Luisa, who go above and beyond to make each visit feel personal and unforgettable.

Whether you're seeking a romantic date night surrounded by the glow of fine wines and dimmed lights, a lively weekend brunch with friends, or a stunning venue to celebrate your most special moments, Terra stands out for its harmonious blend of exemplary food, inspired atmosphere, and exceptional hospitality. Came for the famous tiramisu, but ended up loving everything we ordered! This cozy little spot inside Eataly has a charming, nature-inspired vibe with lots of greenery and a warm open kitchen where you can watch the grill in action. We started with the lamb skewers ($17.50) — nicely charred with that great charcoal flavor, though they could’ve been a bit juicier. The Cavatelli al Ragù di Terra ($32) was good but portion was kinda mini: the handmade pasta was perfectly chewy, and the pork and beef ragù was rich, hearty, and packed with flavor. The Tagliata ($49) was our favorite — a wood-fired strip steak grilled to perfection: juicy, tender, and paired beautifully with roasted peppers and creamy mashed potatoes. And of course, the Tiramisu ($17) was the perfect finish. The mascarpone cream was soft and melt-in-your-mouth, balanced just right with cocoa powder — light, luscious, and not overly sweet. We came at dinner time, so it was counter seating only, but the service was fast and attentive. Overall, a lovely experience — definitely coming back!

This place is a 4.5 however I gave it a 5, only thing I would take away is how expensive this place is. However the decor is unmatched, the service is impeccable, and the food is just enough that have you satisfied for the moment. Really like this place. I want to think of something to critique, however I couldn’t think of anything. Trust me I tried, even the open kitchen was cool. Really nice place, certainly will recommend and next time we in town we will return. Did i mention the espresso martini

Terra never disappoints. With some of their usual dishes (like the grilled chicken) being so simple and yet so full of flavor. Fresh cocktails and delicious desserts.

The famous tiramisu is on my list for a while, so when I happened to pass by, I decided to stop in for lunch. I was pleasantly surprised that not only was the tiramisu delicious and not too sweet, but the pasta was also excellent, both in flavor and texture! The interior is beautifully designed, with sunlight streaming through the glass and lush greenery all around, making the whole experience incredibly enjoyable.

from the moment i walked in, i knew this italian restaurant was something special. the atmosphere was warm and inviting, with just the right balance of elegance and comfort. the staff welcomed us with genuine smiles and made us feel like family from the start. what impressed me most was the attention to detail, not just in the food, but in the service. our server Jenna and the manager Luisa were very attentive without being overbearing, and made excellent recommendations that turned out to be spot-on. we ended the evening with a classic tiramisu that was light, creamy, and absolutely unforgettable. paired with an espresso, it was the perfect finale to an outstanding meal. thank you very much, Jenna and Luisa! you guys were extraordinary.

The food was fine. The roasted pumpkin was burnt so we had to peel it. The dessert was good. The food took a long time to come to our table so be patient.

We were fortunate to enjoy 9 days of touring around Maine and later Boston for our 25th wedding anniversary. My wife chose Terra as one of our two lunch stops in the city, and it was a wonderful experience. We enjoyed lunch on a sunny day, which really made the dining area inside glow. The "Little" salad I had was one of my favorite dishes of the dozens of places we ate while on our vacation - crisp, colorful, and tasty. Our server Jenna was kind enough to chat with us for a couple minutes about other places in the city she enjoyed, and we got a great recommendation for supper in Chinatown later that day. It's pricey, but for us, was worth the expense.
